The Southern Division will compete on three
different bodies of water. First is Arbuckle Lake in
south-central Oklahoma. Located 6 miles southwest of Sulphur,
Arbuckle Lake has 36 miles of shoreline and 2,350 surface acres. It
is one of a handful of crystal clear water lakes in
Oklahoma. Arbuckle Lake with it's deep rock cliffs is one of the top
fishing lakes in Oklahoma. Lake Murray is a 5,728 acre lake in south central part of Oklahoma. The lake is wholly within Lake Murray State Park, Oklahoma's largest state park. Then there is Lake Texoma. This 89,000 acre lake on the Red River is shared by Texas and Oklahoma. It is widely recognized as a top fishing lake, and is one of the most popular recreation destinations in the Southwest. Lake Texoma was built by the Corps of Engineers in the 1940's, and was stocked with black bass and crappie along with the native white bass in the Red and Washita Rivers. |
